Ciao...

About five years ago, I bought a pre-owned phone because I was sick of carrying a SIM card (given by my mentor ) sans a mobile unit. It was a difficult decision to make as at that time I wasn't still sure whether I needed to stay connected. I mean, I don't think I have that many friends. Besides, all three of them know how and where to reach me. Anyway, this was how it looked like:

Over the years, I have learned to appreciate its passive concern towards me - reminding me of what seemed to me as irrelevant occassions and events, updating my running mileage, keeping Patric's and my T's photos and videos. What used to be referred to as "it", became a "him".

Despite the fact that he has lost most of its protective gear - the orange rear clip, its bottom gum, the metal shell - he refused to leave me. He continued to accompany me even though his life was practically bound together by a 5-inch long adhesive tape wound around his body.  I have relied heavily on him that the idea of us being separated was totally unimaginable.

Well, guess what.
He left me.
And no amount of adhesive tape can resuscitate him anymore.

I will miss you, my dear friend.
